Hello reader,

As we move through March, we begin to notice subtle shifts around us. The days stretch a little longer, light returns gradually, and the first signs of spring quietly appear. This time of year often invites reflection. Winter may have asked much of us, and the transition toward spring can bring both renewal and adjustment.

You may notice moments of energy and hope, or you may still feel the need for rest and steadiness. Both are welcome here. March reminds us that change rarely happens all at once. Like the seasons, it unfolds slowly, often beneath the surface before we can see it clearly.

Later this month we reach the Spring Equinox, the moment when day and night briefly hold equal balance. It marks a turning point in the year, when the stillness of winter begins to soften and the promise of new growth quietly emerges.

Nature shows us that balance is not something we force. It develops through cycles of rest and movement, darkness and light. Many people notice similar rhythms within themselves. After the darker months, there may be a gentle stirring of curiosity, reflection, or change. At the same time, this transition can feel slow or uncertain.

Therapy often mirrors this process. Understanding, growth, and healing rarely happen all at once. They unfold gradually through reflection, awareness, and supportive relationships. The equinox reminds us that balance does not mean everything being perfect. It simply means allowing space for different parts of our experience to exist side by side.
As we approach the equinox, you might take a moment to reflect on balance in your own life. You could gently ask yourself:
  • Where in my life might I need more rest or restoration?
  • What helps me feel grounded or steady?
  • What small act of care could I offer myself this week?
Self-care does not need to be dramatic or transformative. Often it begins with a simple pause, a breath, or allowing yourself the same kindness you would offer someone else.

"Love's Powerful Force"
by Byron Pulsifer

This month also includes International Women’s Day, a time to recognise the strength, care, and resilience carried by women across families and communities. We wanted to share a short poem titled “Love’s Powerful Force” by Byron Pulsifer, which reflects on the quiet strength of compassion and connection.

Love’s power is a force so pure,
It heals the heart, makes it secure.
It mends the wounds that time has made,
And turns the darkest night to shade.

It strengthens bonds and helps us grow,
Through every challenge we will know,
That love is there to light the way,
And guide us through each coming day.

The poem reminds us that healing rarely happens in isolation. Support, connection, and care from others often help illuminate the path forward.

Why do therapy fees sometimes increase?

At The Surrey Centre we review our session fees each year in line with rising costs and inflation. As a result, session fees are likely to increase in April. All current clients will be informed directly by letter ahead of any changes, and updated fees for new clients will be reflected on our website and in our client contracts.

Therapy at The Surrey Centre is also supported by the professional community within the Centre. Our psychotherapists, Jungian analysts, trainee therapists, and clinical supervisors meet regularly in supervision, training, and team reflection spaces. In these settings we share knowledge, reflect on the work we are doing, and think together about how best to support the people who come to us.

Engaging in therapy is more than a financial commitment. For many, it is an investment in their wellbeing or in the wellbeing of someone they love. It can be a step toward recognising your own worth and allowing space for change. We value the trust our clients place in us and are honoured to walk alongside you in that journey.

LL Hypnotherapy at The Surrey Centre

March also includes National Complementary Therapy Week (21st - 28th March 2026), which recognises therapeutic approaches that support wellbeing alongside traditional talking therapies.

At The Surrey Centre we are pleased to work with Hypnotherapist Louisa Lunch, whose thoughtful and compassionate approach helps clients access a deeply relaxed and focused state where meaningful change can begin to take shape.

Hypnotherapy can support people working with anxiety, stress, habits, and phobias, helping address patterns that may feel difficult to shift through conscious effort alone. By working with the mind in a calm and receptive state, hypnotherapy can offer another pathway toward understanding and change.

A Closing Thought

As the seasons begin to turn, we are reminded that growth often begins quietly.

This month, may you find moments of balance, reflection, and gentle renewal, in whatever way feels right for you.
