We offer a small number of clinical placements each year for trainee counsellors, psychotherapists and analysts who are in the final stages of an accredited training programme.
Placements at The Surrey Centre are grounded in relationship, depth, and integrity. We are not only interested in what you know – but how you listen, how you show up, and how you’re shaped by the work.

We welcome applications from trainees who:
- Are in the final or advanced stage of an accredited counselling, psychotherapy, or psychoanalytic training
- Are open to a relational, reflective, and trauma-informed approach
- Can commit to at least one year with us
- Are engaged in their own personal therapy and external supervision (where applicable)
- Come from a range of theoretical orientations – including psychodynamic, humanistic, integrative, Jungian, and psychoanalytic
- Are looking to deepen their clinical work in a setting where connection, nuance, and presence are central

- A carefully managed caseload of adult clients
- Group supervision (minimum fortnightly) with a senior, qualified member of our team
- Weekly Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) supervision – one hour of reflective, collaborative discussion
- Access to optional in-house CPD and reflective practice groups
- A supportive, values-led team culture that encourages authenticity, self-awareness, and ethical integrity
- Ongoing mentorship and development, including support in the transition to post-qualification work

We accept trainee placement applications year-round.
If no spaces are currently available, we will let you know when we are next likely to be taking on new trainees.
