ONE TO ONE THERAPY
Psychotherapy and counselling are both interactive processes which utilise a range of methods and techniques, these may include exploring historical experiences and working on issues in the here and now. The focus is to help the client deal with issues that are preventing them from living life fully.
The philosophy of working simultaneously with issues around food and the underlying emotional issues is integral to our approach.
At The Surrey Centre we use an integrated method of therapy, drawing on different therapeutic approaches and adapting them to meet individual clients needs.
The aim of therapy is to provide emotional and cognitive support. Interventions raise awareness of and challenge existing rigid behaviour patterns, explore the defensive motivation behind them and their consequences. We encourage our clients to be autonomous and take responsibility for and control of their lives. Therapy provides encouragement and support during this process. The goal is for our clients to achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life.
What to expect in your one-to-one therapy:
